Sold! Wow, that didn’t take long. Our house sold in 5 days.
The plane tickets are purchased and we have a small apartment lined up for our first month in Cuenca. This is really happening.
Now we have to sell everything else. It is amazing how easy selling everything has become. Once the “Sold” sign went up we had neighbors and friends, and friends of friends, and children of friends, and Facebook friends looking to buy our stuff. Every night 2 or 3 different people are picking up their purchases. There is not much left. I was worried about having too many things left un-sold and un-wanted, but now I am worried about having a chair to sit on and a bed to sleep in for the next 2 months until we leave. It is all good.
And, my artwork has been flying off the walls. I am very happy about that. Although I have a Studio Tour art show planned for this upcoming weekend, and again, will there be anything left to sell? I am not really worried, there are still paintings left, and there is always the possibility of selling some of our other stuff as well. It will be like an indoor yard sale with the art show.
Getting rid of all your stuff is very cathartic. Once the ball starts rolling it just keeps going. I am not missing anything yet, and I am not sure there are too many things that have sold that I will miss. Maybe a few things, like……hummm, isn’t that funny, I can’t think of anything.
We will miss our friends and family! That will be the hardest thing. Luckily we live with technology that allows for easy communication. And we will take full advantage of that to keep in touch with everyone.
Time to go, someone is here to pick up a bookcase.
